Ukraine’s national AI assistant Diia.AI has been recognized as the best example of citizen-centered innovation in public service delivery across Europe.
At the Best Cases Awards 2025, hosted by the European Commission during the SEMIC conference, Diia.AI won in the “Technologies for People” category — highlighting how governments can use artificial intelligence to improve citizen experience.
While many countries are still drafting AI strategies, Ukraine has already launched a fully operational, national-scale AI assistant. Introduced in September 2025 on the Diia portal, Diia.AI is the first national AI assistant in the world that doesn’t just provide information — it actually delivers government services.
From day one, its mission was to make public services more human, accessible, and fast. Citizens can ask questions, receive consultations, and even complete service requests — all in one seamless conversation.
Since launch, over 120,000 users have already interacted with Diia.AI.
The Best Cases Awards honor public sector technologies that solve real challenges for citizens and organizations. Diia.AI was selected as the top solution for its practical impact, citizen focus, and fast rollout under wartime conditions.
The recognition is part of Ukraine’s broader push to embed AI in digital governance and accelerate alignment with European standards. Ukraine is not just testing ideas — it is deploying working solutions and setting the digital pace for governments around the world.
As Ukraine continues to develop new digital tools, Diia.AI is already seen as a case study in how governments can implement AI with purpose, speed, and citizen trust.
The delegation’s visit was supported by the European Union as part of the DT4UA project, implemented by the e-Governance Academy.
