Diia.City United Launches Comprehensive Study on Ukraine's Tech Sector

The tech-business association Diia.City United announces the launch of a comprehensive study titled “Ukraine's Tech Sector as a Core Driver of Economic Resilience and Recovery”.

The project aims to assess the impact of tech companies on the state's economic stability. A key focus is on analyzing the role of the Diia.City space in promoting innovation, encouraging investment activity, and developing competitive business conditions.

The launch of Diia.City became the most significant state reform for the IT industry in recent decades. Thanks to Diia.City, we are building one of the world's most attractive and competitive tech jurisdictions here, in Ukraine. However, to move forward, we need hard data — objective analytics that demonstrate how the framework operates in practice, its role in the tech sector's development, and the new growth opportunities it is opening for the industry. High-quality data is the foundation for effective management decisions

Mykhailo FedorovFirst Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

The study is being conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, with support from the Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund (UMAEF). It combines four key components:

  • A survey of 400+ tech companies (both residents and non-residents of Diia.City);
  • In-depth interviews with CEOs, as well as Ukrainian and international investors;
  • Economic analysis and modelling;
  • Benchmarking Ukraine against competing jurisdictions.

Data collection and analysis are carried out by the research company Advanter Group.

This is a first-of-its-kind study for Ukraine — and it is intended to shift the narrative regarding the role of tech in the economy and post-war recovery. Our tech sector proves its resilience daily; it is time to demonstrate the tangible contribution it makes to the country's economy. The results of this research will enable us to engage in dialogue with investors, global companies, the parliament, the government, and international partners based on facts, not assumptions

Nataliya MykolskaExecutive Director of Diia.City United.

This is the Association's second survey of the technology sector, highlighting its commitment to the systematic development of the ecosystem. The gathered insights will serve as the foundation for data-driven policy, enhance investment attractiveness, and foster a constructive dialogue among business, state institutions, and international partners.

If you are a Founder or CEO of a tech company (Diia.City resident or non-resident), please join the survey here: https://forms.gle/yQKRb9DGeP4tkxAWA

Companies and investors willing to share their experience in an in-depth interview format may contact the research team directly.
