The war hasn’t stopped the growth of Ukraine’s innovation ecosystem. Startups are scaling, entering new markets, attracting investment, and building products used globally.
CheckEye is a Ukrainian startup using AI to help preserve vision. The technology allows patients to detect eye diseases early and easily, while doctors can quickly diagnose chronic conditions and prevent disability.
In 2024, CheckEye entered the German market with its screening tool — a strong example of how competitive Ukrainian HealthTech solutions are globally.
The startup received its first $25,000 grant from the Ukrainian Startup Fund (USF). A year later, USF continued its support with funding, networking, and mentorship, paving the way for European grants and international partnerships.
Key results in 3+ years:
• Raised $700,000 in investment
• 10,000+ screenings
• Operating in 20+ medical facilities across Ukraine
• Pilot project in Germany
• Preparing for EU market entry
• Partnerships across the EU
Support from the Ukrainian Startup Fund helped CheckEye expand its product line and team. The case reflects the implementation of Ukraine’s WINWIN Digital Innovation Strategy 2030, aimed at enabling an economic leap forward.
