Laptops for Ukraine

Laptops for Ukraine

Laptops for Ukraine is an initiative aimed at providing computer equipment to educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and local self-government bodies operating in communities near the frontline or hosting a significant number of internally displaced persons.

The Laptops for Ukraine project was initiated in December 2022 by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine in partnership with the European Commission (DG CNECT) and DIGITALEUROPE.

The initiative was implemented through a decentralized equipment collection network: 17 hubs operated across 9 European Union countries, accepting new and used—but fully functional—devices from individuals, businesses, and organizations. Logistical coordination of one of the key hubs was provided by the EU Civil Protection Mechanism and the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic.

The project ran for nearly three years. The final batch of equipment was delivered to Ukraine at the end of September 2025.

  • devices delivered (laptops, tablets, smartphones, and other equipment)

    19 000+

  • routers used to provide high-speed internet access in shelters

    3 000+

  • e-readers and tablets contributed by Amazon for education authorities

    5 000

Laptops for Ukraine was implemented as a shared platform of European solidarity, bringing together public institutions, the digital industry, and civil society across the European Union to support the critical digital capacity of Ukrainian communities. The project focused on supplying communities with computer equipment to sustain essential public services during wartime.
